The Mycelial Revolution: Why Global Psychedelic Week is Decentralizing the Future of Consciousness

By Jack Gorsline
The mainstreaming of psychedelics is here, but the question remains: whose voice will shape this future? As venture capital flows and clinical trials make headlines, there’s a critical need for a movement rooted not just in profit, but in equity, inclusion, and global community.
That movement is Global Psychedelic Week (GPW).
From November 3rd to 9th, 2025, Global Psychedelic Week will once again explode onto the world stage as the planet’s first and largest decentralized psychedelic gathering. Forget the centralized, expensive conferences of the past. GPW is built on the philosophy of the mycelial network itself—a globally distributed, interconnected web of education, healing, and advocacy that spans over 100 countries and unites thousands of participants.
This is more than an event; it's a global declaration that the psychedelic renaissance belongs to everyone.
The Decentralized Future: Meeting You Where You Are
Co-founders Milica Radovic Mandic and Dennis Walker conceptualized GPW as a radical counterbalance to the movement's commercialization. Instead of flying thousands to a single, expensive location, GPW unfolds across dozens of local in-person hubs and an expansive virtual platform. This design ensures that every voice, from the grassroots organizer in Argentina to the policy advocate in Serbia, has a platform.
This decentralized structure is key to the GPW mission: to foster connection, empowerment, and global plurality. It’s about building the movement "from the ground up," honoring local context, unique cultural relationships, and diverse voices that are often marginalized in Western-centric conversations.
The result is an experience unlike any other: a week of online keynotes and panels seamlessly integrated with workshops, film screenings, integration circles, and public talks happening concurrently in nearly 60 cities worldwide. Whether you’re a veteran seeking healing, a clinician exploring new modalities, an Indigenous elder sharing sacred knowledge, or a curious community member, GPW is designed to meet you in your own community.
Seven Days of Transformation: A Thematic Deep Dive
The entire week is structured around seven powerful themes, ensuring a holistic and comprehensive exploration of the psychedelic landscape, from the scientific frontier to the deepest ethical questions.
Monday, November 3rd: Community Day
The psychedelic movement thrives on connection. This day is dedicated to fostering inclusive, safe, and sustainable psychedelic communities. It explores grassroots education initiatives, the power of peer support networks, and vital harm reduction efforts that bridge the gap between underground and mainstream spaces. We celebrate the strength found in "finding the others."
Tuesday, November 4th: Business Day
As the industry matures, ethical entrepreneurship is paramount. Business Day focuses on innovative financing, responsible commercialization, and the frameworks needed to build companies rooted in integrity. Experts discuss how evidence-based approaches can shape the credibility of emerging psychedelic enterprises without sacrificing the movement's core values.
Wednesday, November 5th: Legacy Day
We take a crucial pause to honor the lineage of plant medicine. "Indigenous Perspectives on Psychedelics: Tradition, Appropriation & Advocacy" features respected elders and cultural protectors, such as Tatayo Gabon and artist Olga Mori Díaz, who will share sacred knowledge and discuss the ethical imperative of reciprocity. We explore the profound influence of sacred plants on Indigenous art and design.
Thursday, November 6th: Veterans Day
This day is a vital focus on addressing PTSD recovery, moral injury, and healing for those who have served. The program highlights how psychedelic therapies, particularly MDMA-assisted therapy, are being applied in crisis-affected regions to foster resilience, recovery, and inner peace, led by pioneering figures like Rick Doblin.
Friday, November 7th: Inclusion & Diversity Day
True expansion of consciousness requires radical inclusion. This day is dedicated to uplifting voices from underrepresented communities worldwide, ensuring the movement is shaped by intersectional perspectives. Discussions will focus on systemic barriers and how we can build a truly accessible, equitable, and anti-oppressive psychedelic future.
Saturday, November 8th: Women in Psychedelics Day
Women have been leaders in healing and community-building throughout history. Spotlighting female trailblazers in research, guidance, and advocacy, this day features a keynote by Dr. Pamela Kryskow on "Why Women Must Lead in the Psychedelic Ecosystem." The focus is on collaborative, care-centered approaches that are reshaping psychedelic science and policy.
Sunday, November 9th: Psychedelics & Humanity
The week culminates in a look forward, asking the biggest questions about our collective future. Reimagining what the world can be, this day explores how expanded states of consciousness might foster ecological empathy and inspire collective action. The closing session, "Can Psychedelics Help Solve Climate Change and Other Existential Crises?" offers a roadmap for applying internal transformation to global change.
